Did you know that every single detail you enter on the internet is saved? Now imagine a company like Meta, with tons of data and billions of users! how do they manage our data? what if they leak it? or it gets leaked unintentionally! Here’s where this software comes into the picture. It manages data for big industries and makes sure it is compliant with government standards. Being a person who uses this software would of course not be easy with data being meaningless and no ability to act upon it. The former structure was a complex dashboard consisting of lots of charts, numbers, and graphs with no value to the user.

<aside> 💡 Problem Statement: Improving the Risk Dashboard's usability and actionability for both tech-savvy and non-tech users.

<aside> 🔥 Challenge: We had a deadline of 3 weeks to deliver the restructured dashboard along with the visual design. We Followed the agile framework with a 15-day sprint, bi-weekly stakeholder updates, and daily scrum meetings.

<aside> 🎯 Impact: Enhanced visibility, Proactive incident response, Compliance with regulations, and Increased confidence in data protection. Ease of use for new users and increased efficiency for existing users, reduced decision-making time by 4.5%.

<aside> 🙅🏻‍♀️ My Role: As a key member of a cross-functional team, I played a crucial role in the UX design process, encompassing research, ideation, and design, to deliver an exceptional user experience.

Our first step was to understand the users, the research team spoke to a few people who were already using this software and tried to understand basic things like, what is their purpose for using this software and what would be their main takeaway after using it. Apart from it we also wanted to get a clear understanding of the user’s goals. I was able to sketch a persona after pulling out the research insights.

Product Research and Analysis

I never had the impression that to redesign a product, you had to understand it thoroughly. Only when I began redesigning the dashboard did I feel the need to be familiar with every feature of the product to grasp what the user genuinely needs from it.

I took my time reading the product's documentation and actively investigating the features. Here is the 🔗research documentation

Competitor Analysis

We conducted a competitive analysis on similar items and saw various ways information is presented. We also learned why a particular layout works when showing a lot of data.

Making the Widgets Actionable

The existing product provides the user with data that may or may not be useful to the user. Our goal was to make each widget interactive so that the user would know what to do next in order to process the information.
